Hypertension is a major health problem in the elderly, contributing to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, kidney failure, and a decreased quality of life. Lack of knowledge about risk factors and prevention of hypertension is one of the causes of low awareness in maintaining health in the elderly. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and awareness of the elderly regarding hypertension prevention through health education. The activity was held on April 19, 2026, at the Al Marzuqiyah Mosque, targeting elderly people aged ≥60 years. The methods used included health education, interactive discussions, and the distribution of educational media in the form of leaflets and posters. The material provided covered the definition of hypertension, risk factors, healthy eating patterns, physical activity, stress management, and the importance of regular blood pressure checks. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the importance of reducing salt consumption, regular physical activity, and regular blood pressure checks. Participants also showed high enthusiasm during the discussion session. Health education has proven to be an effective strategy in increasing the knowledge and awareness of the elderly regarding hypertension prevention. This activity is expected to be the first step in developing healthy lifestyle behaviors in the elderly to achieve an optimal quality of life.
