Socah Village has considerable capture fishery potential; however, most catches are still sold in fresh form, resulting in limited value addition for fishing households. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of fishing families, particularly the wives of members of the Mitra Laut Socah Fishermen Group, in processing fishery products into more diverse food products with greater economic potential. The program involved 15 participants and was implemented in two main stages: education on the nutritional content and value of fishery products, followed by hands-on training in the diversification of marine-based products. The products developed during the activity were fish otak-otak and shrimp karika. The implementation methods included lectures, discussions, demonstrations, practical sessions, and descriptive evaluation based on observations of participants’ involvement, understanding, and engagement throughout the activity. The results showed that participants actively participated in the learning process and were able to follow the processing stages, including ingredient preparation, batter mixing, shaping, and cooking. The activity provided participants with basic knowledge of the nutritional value of fishery products as well as practical skills in processing fish and shrimp into value-added products. Product diversification has the potential to provide an alternative means of utilizing fishery catches while creating opportunities for household-based enterprises among fishing families. Further assistance is recommended, particularly in packaging, production cost calculation, pricing, business licensing, and product marketing.
