Generative artificial intelligence (Gen-AI) offers opportunities to accelerate teaching-material development, research ideation, and community-service planning. Its adoption in higher education also raises concerns about hallucinated information, bias, privacy, academic integrity, and overreliance on automated recommendations. This community-service activity aimed to broaden academic participants’ understanding of productive, critical, and responsible Gen-AI use across the university’s three missions. The activity was delivered through DIKI’s National Community Service Webinar 3.0 on 10 October 2026 via Zoom. Four sessions addressed AI ethics in higher education, prompt strategies for developing course materials, Gen-AI as an academic copilot, and the risks that emerge when AI begins to shape human decisions. Event documentation, Zoom chat records, and the recorded sequence of pre-test, post-test, and attendance forms were used for descriptive evaluation. Available evidence confirms participant interaction around AI tools and the evaluation process; however, verified attendance totals and pre-/post-test scores were not available, so quantitative learning gains cannot be claimed. The activity highlights human validation, transparent AI use, data protection, and practice-oriented follow-up as essential elements of responsible adoption.
